September 7, 2014 Reflections this week

IMG_0720LORD you love me with an everlasting love. With unfailing love you have drawn me to yourself. (‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31‬:‭3‬ NLT) Father, I want my life to be ordered like Jesus’s life—wholly centered on you. While you are reordering my world, change my heart and desires.  I want to desire you more than anything else—love you more than anything else. I want to follow the path of Jesus, staying close to him—connected so that his life flows into mine. (‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭3, 5‬ NLT) Jesus will lead me to springs of life-giving water that lead right into your presence. Father, show me the way of life, grant me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever. (‭Psalms‬ ‭16‬:‭8, 11‬ NLT) I want my world to center around you. Father, there’s nothing like your Word for showing me the way to salvation. Every part of it originates with you and is ‘breathed’ by you. It is all useful, showing me truth, exposing my rebellion, correcting my mistakes, training me to live your way. Through the Word I am put together and shaped up for the tasks you have planned for me. (‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭14-17‬ MSG) Even when I am troubled or afflicted I hear your voice saying, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last. I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.” (‭Revelation‬ ‭1‬:‭17-18‬ NLT) Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power and strength belong to you, God, forever and ever! (‭Revelation‬ ‭7‬:‭12, 16-17‬ NLT)

  1. Phil Baer says:

Bob, I made your prayer, mine:

    LORD you:

    · love me with an everlasting love.

    · love me with an unfailing love [by which] you have drawn me to yourself. (Jeremiah 31:3 NLT)

    Father, I want:

    · my life to be ordered like Jesus’s life—wholly centered on you.

    · change my heart and desires, while you reorder my world,

    I want to

    · desire you more than anything else

    · love you more than anything else

    · follow the path of Jesus,

    · stay close to him—connected so that his life flows into mine.

    (John 15:3, 5 NLT)

    · stay with Jesus who will lead me to springs of life-giving water that lead right into your presence.

    Father:

    · show me the way of life,

    · grant me the joy of your presence

    · grant me the pleasures of living with you forever.

    (Psalms 16:8, 11 NLT)

    · I want my world to center around you.

Father, there’s nothing like your Word:

    · It shows me the way to salvation.

    · It–every part of it–originates with you

    · It is ‘breathed’ by you.

    o It is all useful,

    o It shows me truth,

    o It exposes my rebellion,

    o It corrects my mistakes,

o It trains me to live your way.

    · Through it I am put together

    · Through it I am shaped up for the tasks you have planned for me. (2 Timothy 3:14-17 MSG)

Even when I am troubled or afflicted I hear your voice saying,

    · I am the First and the Last–don’t be afraid!

    · I am the living one

    · I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever!

    · I hold the keys of death and the grave.

    (Revelation 1:17-18 NLT)

These belong to you, God, forever and ever! (Revelation 7:12, 16-17 NLT)

    · blessing

    · glory

    · wisdom

    · thanksgiving

    · honor

    · power

    · strength
