It all starts with prayer…

This month Wycliffe Bible Translators is celebrating the 100th birthday of President Emeritus, George Cowan. Knowing George, he would be happy to have his birthday celebration set in the larger context of what God is doing though Bible Translation. I also know that he would want it set in the context of prayer. I’ve heard George say, my wife and I were involved in two translation projects: Mazatec (Mexico) and Romani (Gypsy). Pointing to the first, Mazatec, he speaks passionately about actual on-the-ground involvement.

Pointing to the second, Romani, he says we were involved in praying-only but we were no less involved.

Prayer is at the foundation of all we do at Wycliffe, and prayer for those still waiting for Scripture is paramount in our planning and thinking. Find out more how you, too, can be involved in Bible translation.
